POSITION SUMMARY:
The RTE Forklift Operator is a public safety and security conscious individual that operates industrial trucks such as a forklift and that has the ability to, or knowledge of using scissor lifts and boom lifts. The RTE Forklift Operator works in a fast pace environment and ensures that the hoppers are full and all lines are set according to work order demands. The RTE Forklift Operator works closely with the RTE Palletizer and may assist in wrapping the product on to the pallets and transferring them into the transition area. The RTE department is one of the many final stages of shipment in preparing goods to excellent quality standards. RTE Forklift Operator adhere to Ensure Food Safety System are adhered to in all processes.
Safety Ability :
Promote a "safety first" culture by following all safety rules (including Lockout/Tag out, Confined Space, Fall Protection and Hazard Communication). Report all near misses, Injuries, and documentation of incidents to Shift Supervisor/Production Supervisor/Leads
Quality Ability :
Perform all duties in accordance with Quality and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) established company policies and procedures.
Continuous Improvement : Responsible for Active participation in continuous improvement teams and processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
RTE Forklift Operator

  • Load and unload products using forklift trucks.
  • Dump and deliver product to specified unit locations.
  • Prepare goods for shipments to the transition area.
  • Complete daily forklift inspection reports and maintain records onsite.
  • Remove completed or defective products, materials, by either placing them on moving equipment such as conveyors or in a specified area.
  • Operate, label, and seal equipment.
  • Maintain quality standards
  • Reports any product discrepancies to Lead/Supervisor.
  • Follows and complies with established procedures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
  • Examine and inspect containers, materials, and product to ensure that packaging specifications are met.
  • Safety awareness when using or working around a forklift. POSITION REQUIREMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    • Preferably 1 year of experience in food manufacturing environment.
      • At least 2 years of forklift experience.
        • Position requires standing, sitting, and walking on a regular basis for prolonged periods.
            • Forklift Driver Certification preferred but not needed
              • Ability to work any day and/or shift including weekends and holidays.
                • Team player, able to lead and ability to get along in a group environment
                  • Strong communication skills and follow directions.
                    • Near vison-ability to see details at close range.
                      • Ability to continuously use trunk strength-abdominal and lower back to support repeated bodily movement.
                        • Ability to wear all PPE required.
                          • Ability to push/pull/lift 50+ lbs.
                            • Bilingual preferred but not required
