POSITION SUMMARY:The Sanitation Department plays a key role toward the success of the company by contributing daily to cleanliness and sanitation of the plant and equipment. The Sanitation Worker directly impacts the working environment by helping maintain the high level of hygiene and creating a healthful work environment for the equipment, machinery, and facilities and as whole for the success of a food processing company. The Sanitation department adheres to company's policies, OSHA regulations, FDA, and applicable laws. Safety Ability: Promote a "safety first" culture by following all safety rules (including Lockout/Tag out, Confined Space, Fall Protection and Hazard Communication). Report all near misses, Injuries, and documentation of incidents to Shift Supervisor/Production Supervisor/LeadsQuality Ability: Perform all duties in accordance with Quality and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) established company policies and procedures.Continuous Improvement: Responsible for Active participation in continuous improvement teams and processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Sanitation Worker

Responsible for reading and referring to chemical and pesticide labels.Familiar or know how to identify the sections of the SDS and know the locations of the SDS Binders.Accurately measure chemicals and pesticides based on label directions. Applies appropriate dilutions, mixing and storage of chemicals.Familiar or knows procedures and laws when storing Pesticides, Herbicides, insecticides etc.Knowledge of employees in GMPs, SSOPS, HAZ COM, Blood Borne Pathogens or other programs as needed.Able to adhere to color coding of cleaning and plant tools.Reports any discrepancies regarding environment and machines to lead/supervisor/manager.Know how to correctly complete paper work.Report all near misses, property damage, injuries and documentation to appropriate parties.Able to adhere to Company SSOPs. Operate a forklift, scissor lift, boom lift and other industrial trucks.Contribute to tailgate discussions.Abide by safely assembling and disassembling machinery.Perform housekeeping, including organizing and sweeping.Complete daily forklift inspection reports and maintain records onsite.Able to adhere by the RED ZONE or any programs requested for tracking by Management if necessary.Assist with recording of movements of supplies and materials in company logs.May install related parts to machines and installing of some equipment.Conduct regular inspections of equipment.Maintain quality standards.Follows and complies with established procedures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.Safety awareness when using or working around a forklift.Safely practice LOTO (Lock out Tag out) and Confined Space requirements. Use of Fall Protection.Perform other job duties and tasks as assigned by management. POSITION REQUIREMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Preferably 1 year of experience in food manufacturing environment.
At least 1 years of forklift experience preferred.
Use of some mechanical tools for disassembling and assembling.
Some mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
Handle sanitation chemicals for disassembling and cleaning of plant machines.
May be exposed to blood borne pathogens or bodily fluids when cleaning facilities.
Position requires standing, sitting, and walking on a regular basis for prolonged periods.
Use hands, fingers to handle or feet to prepare, place, handle or other.
Reaching, Repetitive Motion, Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Able to work in confined and limited spaces.
Able to work in low illuminated areas.
Able to work at high altitudes.
Exposure to dust, extreme heat or cold, wet or humid conditions.
Talk and hear in noise driven environment.
  • Forklift Driver Certification preferred but not needed.Ability to enter information into computer or tablet, preferred but no required.Able to work in a hot environment exceeding 85 degrees.Able to log information in English preferred.Ability to or knowledge of or reading of measuring such as the metric system.
    Ability to work any day and/or shift including weekends and holidays or long hours.
    Team player, able to lead and ability to get along in a group environment
    Strong communication skills and follow directions.
    Near vison-ability to see details at close range.
    Ability to continuously use trunk strength-abdominal and lower back to support repeated bodily movement.
    Ability to wear all PPE required.
    Ability to push/pull/lift 50+ lbs.
    Bilingual preferred but not required
