Nichols Farms possesses a strong employee oriented environment dedicated to training and growth of team members.The Nichols Farms Mission and Vision supports a culture of striving for mutual success of our employees, suppliers and customers through operational excellence and educational development.POSITION SUMMARY:The RTE Flavor Room Operator plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations to create our customized flavors by following instructions, steps, and information based on recipes. They are responsible for setting up, operating, manually mixing, and tending equipment that blends, mixes, and cooks ingredients during the manufacturing process or food production. Operators utilize tools to manually transfer product during each step of the process. Flavor operators are required to follow detailed procedures and complete paperwork accurately to ensure safe, consistent, and quality product. The RTE department is one of the many final stages of preparing goods to excellent quality standards. RTE Flavor Operators adhere to Ensure Food Safety System are adhered to in all processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain Processing area and equipment in a clean, sanitary and presentable condition; adhere to GMP.
  • Utilize appropriate safety equipment, PPE and proactively improve the safety culture of the department.
  • Clean and sanitize utensils and work surfaces.
  • Read and interpret recipes, gauges, measuring equipment temperatures, and weights.
  • Set up and complete product batch according to each recipe
  • Accurately weigh liquid and powders
  • Transfer. Mix, blend, prepare, and cook food products for, manufacture
  • Start/stop/load and unload mixer, over, and cooler
  • Material issue product, seasoning, tack, and create bun tags throughout the day.
  • Accurately document operational information as required. (hard copy and soft copy)
  • Test food product samples for moisture content, salt levels, texture and flavor.
  • Accurately document balance out work order ensuring product, tack, and seasoning match up to what X3, and hard copies present.
  • Complete a break clean once work order has been completed.
  • Immediately report any discrepancies to lead or supervisorPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:
    • Preferably 1 year of experience in the food manufacturing environment
    • Computer knowledge is a plus for the ability to learn X3systemsJOB COMPETENCIES:

Seeks opportunities to improve self and processes.PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENTFacility is a manufacturing environment, and this position may primarily be outdoors. The manufacturing environment and working outdoors may include high levels of noise. When working outdoors conditions can include extreme cold, heat, or humidity; and sometimes can include work in dusty conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated by the company. Position requires standing, sitting, and walking on a regular basis for prolonged periods. Near vison-ability to see details at close range. Ability to continuously use trunk strength-abdominal and lower back to support repeated bodily movement. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
