Job Description:
Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Vice Provost and
technical supervisio n of the Director of Instruction , the Campus
Dean is responsible for the day-to-day operatio n of th e
educational programs and the faculty on the campus along with d
eveloping, implementing and delivering a variety of services for
students attending programs on campus. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Supervises inst ruction to ensure the i ntegrit y of
educational programs on the campus through weekly classroom
observations
- Coordinates faculty teaching schedules , classroom and lab
facilities, and campus activities
- Coordinates faculty recruitment, hiring, and eva luation
according to establish ed poli cies
- Builds capacity of faculty and administration through ongoin g
professional development
- Coordinates assigned portions of new f aculty orientation and
training
- Assesses and analyzes student mastery of course and program
lear ning
- Reviews assessment data a nd adjusts curriculum and
instructional methodologies to improve stu dent learning
- Fulfills all duties enumerated within the Statem ent of Faculty
Responsibilities
- Maintains records, statistical reports, examin ations, data,
and other program- specific items a s required by the college,
accredit ation, or governmental agencie s and participates in
program reviews, institutional committees, etc. as required
- Provides resources and referral s for student services such as
childcare, trans p ortation, and related s ervices
- Coordinates student functions and activities such as Student
Cou ncil, award cer emonies, and related activities
- Provides academic counseling and tracks and monitors
attendance, grades, and S atisfactory A cademic P rogress
- Produc es and analyzes reports that t rack retention, grades,
and other outcomes
- Participates as assign ed in related admissions, education, and
employment services activities
- Provides counseling for perso nal and school related
problems
- Develops, implements, and de livers var ious student retenti on
programs
- Maintains communication and is the liaison bet ween th e
Registrar and students
- Serves as the Campus Coordinator of Disability Resources
- Performs other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises fac ulty, academic administ rative staff, S tudent C
enter C oordinators, and on some campuses , Federal Work Study
employees. R esponsible for the overall direction, coordination,
and evaluation of these units . Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordan ce with the organizatio n's pol icies
and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing ,
hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing
work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;
addressing complaints an d resolving problems. Compete ncy: To

Experience - Must possess a minimum of a Baccalaureate degree with
a Master's degree preferred in education or related field . Must
possess a minimum of 5 years of administrative expe rience.

accrediting agencies and or degrees from non-U.S. institutions are
recognized only if equivalence has been established and provided.
Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documen ts such as
safety rules, and policy and procedure handbooks; abil ity to write
routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively
before groups of employees or students of the campus. Mathematical
Skills - Ability to add, subtract, mult iply an d divide in all
units of measure, using whole numbers, common fra ctions, and
decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw
and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability - Ability to use common
sense in all sit uations; ability to sol ve prac tical problems and
deal with a variety of concrete variables in s ituations where only
limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Compute r Skills - To perform t his job successfully, an individual
should have knowledge of Microsoft O ffice; Word, Excel, Access and
