HR Coordinator SUMMARY: The HR Coordinator is the onsite human
resources support for our employees and managers, while working
closely with a centralized HR team that manages core HR functions.
This role focuses on providing day-to-day onsite HR support,
coordinating recruiting activities, and leading new hire onboarding
to ensure a positive employee experience. The HR Coordinator also
assists with HR administration, compliance, and employee relations
at the local level, while escalating complex issues to the
centralized HR team. ESSESNTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Serve
as the onsite HR point of contact for employees and managers,
providing guidance on HR policies and procedures while escalating
complex matters to the centralized HR team. Coordinate recruiting
activities in partnership with the central recruiting team,
including scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate visits, and
assisting with local candidate communications. Prepare and
distribute new hire packets, conduct onboarding sessions, and
ensure compliance with California-specific new hire notices, I-9
verification, and wage theft prevention requirements. Partner with
managers and the central HR team to facilitate a smooth new hire
orientation and first-day experience. Coordinate employee equipment
needs, including issuing laptops, ID badges, access cards,
uniforms, or phones, ensuring proper documentation, return, and
tracking in partnership with IT and Facilities. Maintain onsite HR
records and personnel files in compliance with the California
Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) and organizational standards. Support
employee status changes, transfers, and terminations, ensuring
timely processing of paperwork and final pay requirements under
California law. Assist with tracking and coordination of employee
leaves of absence, including CFRA, PDL, Paid Sick Leave, and
Pregnancy Disability Leave, in collaboration with the centralized
HR team. Provide onsite support for compliance with California
labor laws, including rest/meal breaks, overtime rules, required
postings, and workplace safety requirements. Coordinate local
logistics for required California trainings, such as Harassment
Prevention (AB 1825/2053/SB 1343), and maintain accurate records.
Partner with payroll to ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime
compliance. Assist with local employee relations matters by
documenting concerns, gathering information, and escalating to the
centralized HR team for resolution. Support HR projects and
initiatives rolled out by the centralized HR team, including open
enrollment, performance reviews, and policy updates. EXPERIENCE,
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources,
Business Administration, or related field preferred. 1–2 years of
HR administrative or coordinator experience; California HR
experience required. Knowledge of California employment laws and
regulations (meal/rest periods, CFRA, PDL, Paid Sick Leave, final
pay requirements). SHRM-CP, PHR, or PHR- CA certification preferred
. PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS : Must have reliable transportation,
a valid driver's license, and the minimum state required liability
auto insurance. Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and
have all immunizations up to date before engaging in direct
participant contact. Pass a comprehensive criminal background check
that may include, but is not limited to, federal and state
Medicare/Medicaid exclusion lists, criminal history, education
verification, license verification, reference check, and drug
