Restoration, Renewal About the Position: As a Certified Substance
Abuse Counselor - Supervising, you will support the community by
delivering face-to-face rehabilitative programming services
provided in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program
(ISUDTP). What You Will Do: Delivers treatment programming services
to participants and conduct group and/or individual sessions.
Supervises approximately eight (8) AOD Counseling staff and
evaluate staff performance and provide applicable coaching and
training. Maintains knowledge of the AOD certification process and
regularly monitor counseling staff progress towards achieving and
maintaining valid AOD certification. Supervises the orientation and
intake processes of all participants newly assigned to programming;
e. Approve and monitor treatment/action plan development. Tracks
all participants (i.e. names of all participants in the program,
counselors assigned to participants, stage of program
participation, etc.). Completes all delivery documentation
requirements per contractual obligations in ARMS. Summarizes
participants’ background, treatment plan, and recovery process
outcomes. Prepares accurate, concise, informative reports, records
and plans that are consistent with Amity standards, and complies
with applicable clinical and administrative rules. Provides
training, oversight and monitoring of all ARMS documentation to
ensure compliance with the terms of contract agreement. Provides
training to AOD Counseling staff, including OMCP Mentors.
Responsible for the coordination and supervision of OMCP Mentors
assigned to the program. Provides support and additional resources
to ensure OMCP Mentors complete the work experience portion of the
certification process, including practice of all twelve (12) Core
Functions. Provides clinical verification of internship hours for
AOD Counseling staff and OMCP Mentors. Verify and record each OMCP
Mentor’s monthly internship hours accrued during the previous
month. Works collaboratively with CDCR, DRP, CCHCS and institution
staff. Supports and collaborates co-faculty, including but not
limited to Supervisors, Directors and Regional Directors. Other
duties as assigned. What You Will Bring: A minimum of a Bachelor’s
Degree in a social service-related field and one (1) year of
experience providing SUDT services, as a certified AOD Counselor,
at a responsibility no less than a Counselor III; OR An Associate’s
Degree in a social service-related field and two (2) years of
experience providing SUDT services, as a certified AOD Counselor,
at a responsibility no less than a Counselor III; OR Three (3) or
more years of experience providing SUDT services, as a certified
AOD Counselor, at a responsibility no less than a Counselor III.
Current AOD Certification with an organization recognized by the
DHCS OR a Licensed professional. Understanding of causes, symptoms,
and effects of substance abuse; appreciation for the behavioral,
psychological, physical, and social effects of drug abuse.
Excellent organization, leadership, and time management skill.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. Excellent
interpersonal, written, and communication skills. Operational
knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS (preferred). Ability to
maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressures generated by
association with substance abuse treatment participants. Protect
and maintain program participants’ health, safety, welfare, and
confidentiality of records and participant information. What We
