Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Environmental, Health & Safety Supervisor is responsible for
driving and developing a strong safety culture. Partner with
consultants, President and Directors to Review Environmental,
Health and Safety programs and assist in development and
implementation. Ensure compliance with all OSHA and Environmental
federal, state, and local regulations. MAJOR DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage the workforce in safety awareness and involvement in
safety teams.
- Monitor and communicate environmental and safety performance
and develop plans for continued improvement.
- Evaluate and implement best Safety practices for a safe work
environment.
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations for
environmental and safety areas including OSHA
requirements.
- Ensure compliance with IIPP, Heat Prevention Illness and
Hearing Conservation.
- Oversee and manage all safety and environmental incident
investigations and identify root cause. Provide recommendations and
ensure implementation.
- Provide recommendations on safety performance issues and
follow-up to ensure completion.
- Assist in providing injury/accident incidents to the Human
Resources Department related Workers' Compensation
reporting.
- Conduct risk assessment on Safety practices/procedures and
develop plans on findings.
- Partner with the Human Resources Department, President and
Directors to identify, develop and implement Safety Training Plan,
to include compliance training.
- Maintain and monitor training ensuring certifications and
annual training requirements are documented.
- Responsible for the Safety OSHA and DOT Logs and
reporting.
- Maintain all environmental reports and documentation.
- Participate in Plant and Farm audits as required and assist in
resolving findings.
- Organize and oversee safety inspections and partner with
operations on implementation of manufacturing equipment regarding
safety standards and improvements.
- Keep apprised of developments in federal and state safety and
environmental regulations.
- Perform all duties in accordance with SQF (Safety Quality Food)
and GMP (good manufacturing practices) established company policies
and procedures.
- Support all shifts, to include periodically providing third
shift visibility/training as needed, as well as occasionally
present on a Saturday or Sunday during Harvest Season.
- Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS Degree in Occupational Health; Safety Science; Environmental
Science; Engineering or related field preferred.
- Minimum two years' experience in Safety and Environmental role
in food processing or manufacturing preferred and Ag Experience in
Farm Shop, Orchard and Irrigation Safety.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Strong Project Management and analytical skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those
that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the
essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of
this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand for
periods of time at work station and other work areas, climb stairs
including high heights and reach with hands and arms. The employee
must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally
lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities
required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color
vision and depth perception. Ability to wear Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) as designated by the company.
The job responsibilities for this roles is performed in a
manufacturing environment which may include high levels of noise
and as well as perform work in an outdoor environment. Working in
outdoor conditions can include extreme cold, heat, or humidity; and
sometimes can include work in dusty or muddy work conditions. To
perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
