POSITION SUMMARY:
The Vice-President of Human Resources provides support to Plant, Farm and HotSpot Ag operations. This position reports to the President/COO. Will lead the Human Resources Department in defining strategies that align with business objectives for all business entities. Responsible for short and long-term planning of the HR function to include recruitment and staffing strategies, wage and salary administration, employee relations, benefits, training and development.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develops and implements HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Identifies and assesses key performance indicators for the human resources and safety functions to ensure effectiveness of the metrics.
  • Directs the functional areas of Human Resources and Safety, including, but not limited to retention, personnel records, employee relations, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, organizational development, workers compensation, safety, training, and special projects.
  • Leads compensations, benefits and employee incentive programs by researching and analyzing data to ensure company remains competitive in the market.
  • Cultivates company culture, mission and vision.
  • Drives initiatives as a health and safety advocate in creating a safe working environment.
  • Develops, maintains, and monitors Human Resources and Safety budgets.
  • Develops and executes company-wide Training and Development Programs.
  • Works closely with executive leaders and management to advise, counsel, and provide coaching and resolution to address employee relations concerns.
  • Mentors, coaches, and develops HR and Safety Teams. Including HR participation in development, networking, and training opportunities.
  • Leads the sourcing of talent for all positions within the organization.
  • Ensures legal compliance with federal and state requirements, including overseeing EEOC reporting requirements.
  • Manage company social audits, ensuring legal compliance in hiring and timekeeping practices.
  • Oversee employee benefit program working closely with business analyst to ensure competitive plans.
  • Leads internal communications on Human Resource matters.
  • Develops and manages the implementation of company policies and procedures, including employee handbook for all business entities.
  • Provides performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

      • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree highly preferred.
      • Certifications: SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.
      • Experience: 10 plus years' experience in a strong human resources management leadership role. Experience in Director of HR, VP of HR or combination of experience in similar leadership roles in a Food Manufacturing environment preferred.
      • Computer Skills: High proficiency in MS Office Suite
      • Bilingual in Spanish, including reading, writing and translation preferred.


        WORK ENVIRONMENT
        Work is performed in an office environment in a controlled atmosphere building and primary work environment will be in an office setting. As part of the scope of this role duties may include being inside the plant manufacturing environment, which may include high levels of noise.
        The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, climb stairs, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception. The employee will, at times, be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as designated by the company.
